What is a Candidate Favorability poll?

A candidate favorability poll assesses the overall perception and likability of a specific political candidate among the public. Respondents are asked whether they have a favorable or unfavorable opinion of the candidate, or sometimes if they have no opinion. This type of poll helps to gauge the candidate's personal appeal, charisma, and the extent to which voters find them trustworthy, relatable, and competent. Unlike approval ratings, which focus on job performance, favorability polls provide a broader measure of a candidate's image and popularity, offering insights into how voters feel about the candidate on a more personal level.
